Got forwarded this today, apparently from a 1954 Popular Mechanics magazine.
"...how a 'home computer' could look like in the year 2004. With teletype interface and the Fortran language, the computer will be easy to use."
I thought that the image looked a bit suspicious, the paper was a bit funny at the bottom of the teletype. One quick search on google later and an interesting story emerges...
Turns out the article is a rather good photoshop, originally done for a competition on Fark. The artists was a guy called Troels Eklund Andersen who has a gallery of photoshopped pictures of various quality. Anyway, he made an urban legand and has had his picture emailed around the world - pretty cool!.
Why that looks a bit like my office at home. I must admit, I don't have the posh ceiling mounted monitor just yet!
Except you can see all the mis-matched perspectives in the photoshopped picture - but probably just because I'm looking for it! :-)
